Ithaca Marmaka beach
Ithaca Marmaka beach

North of Frikes you will find one of the most special beaches in Ithaca. Marmakas was named after the floor of the sea which is paved with big white pebbles that look like marble (marmaro in Greek) and shine when the sun hits, creating a stunning contrast with the blue, clear waters of the sea. From Marmakas you can see the small island of Agios Nikolas. At ebb time a special phenomenon occurs with a small patch of sand splitting the sea in half!
