Myrtos Beach

As one of the most noteable beaches in Kefalonia, Myrtos is the trademark of the island. Each year the beach receives various awards and the GNTO (Greek National Tourism Organisation) rewards Myrtos with the Blue Flag every year. This beach is situated at the north part of the island and is part of the Pylaros municipality. It’s 30 km from Argostoli, 8 km from Agia Efimia and 3 km from the village Diavarata.

One visit to the beach of Myrtos will make you understand why it’s considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Greece. Green rocks surround the cove and lead you to a big beach with white pebbles. The endless blue of the sea will invite you to swim and enjoy the clean water while watching the view of the green rocks that hug the beach.

The beach is fully organized, providing you with everything you’ll need in order to enjoy your swim any time of the day. Especially at sunset the landscape is idyllic and if you visit Myrtos make sure you stay until the sun starts “hiding” in the sea, giving the bathers one of the most stunning views in the Mediterranean.
